It's been amazing to see tennis and this burst of energy by parents to introduce tennis to their kids at an young age. We are proud to note that many have enrolled year after year to this event and some have graduated to be volunteers helping future generations to grow the sport. Tennis is game for life.

1) Amy Yee Legacy Clinics: 10 th Anniversary (free)
-Designed for Beginner Players. HS tends to be a mix of levels.

-Free, 4 Sat’s in June (Outdoor courts at AYTC)
2) Family Drop-in Time: (Outdoors around city, free)
-8 sites are reserved on select days and times around the city for families with youth to come
out and play games. No singles, no lessons, JUST Play
-Some sites may have a site supervisor/organizer
-Sites: Hiawatha, Jefferson (upper), Magnolia Park (NOT playfield), Meadowbrook, Rainier
Playfield (not Rainier Beach), Ravenna-Eckstein, Riverview, and Rogers (Not David Rogers)
-Each court location will have a short list of fun games for different size groups.
3) Teen Summer Drop-In: (free)
-open to ages 12-19 yrs old
-Friday nights starting in July inside at AYTC 645-915pm
-Program will be led by a mix of coaches and volunteers.
-Players of all levels are encouraged, beginner on up and highly encourage High School team
players.
4) Family Lessons (Run by the AY Foundation, fee to be determined):
-This will be a post Legacy Clinic program. Nominal fee to participate. Priority will be given to
Legacy Clinic Participants.
-One parent and one child are required to participate in this program.
-Must commit to 5 of 6 weeks.
-Sat mornings from 10am-11am starting July 11th thru Aug 16th .
-Youth participants will be 5-8 yrs old.
-Lesson will include working with parents to work with their youth. Parents do NOT need to
know how to play tennis. We’ll teach both!
-Outdoors at AYTC but subject to moving to Jefferson based on court availability
5) Net Generation: ( 16th year, fee to be determined)
-Led by a volunteers/coaches M/W: ages 7-8, 6-7pm; Ages 9-10, 7-8pm. June 22nd -August 12th . 8 weeks. Registration 5/19
-Community based program, designed for beginner and first-time youth players, ideal for youth who have not participated in traditional lessons yet.
-Sites: Amy Yee (outdoors), Jefferson, Meadowbrook, David Rogers, Walt Hundley
-Traditional lesson, but done in a student’s neighborhood. Parent participation is HIGHLY
encouraged in this program. THIS IS NOT AN AYTC ‘LESSON PROGRAM’.
-Program uses age-appropriate balls, rackets, nets, courts, etc.
Where you come in:
-Please recruit folks that you think might be a good fit as participant or coach/volunteer in
these programs.
-All of these programs will use some volunteers…sometimes as leads…
-We will train volunteers/coaches and provide support during programs.
- For net generation we are looking for volunteers that can commit to 6 of the 8 weeks of the program.
-For other programs we are looking for volunteers that can regularly assist.
