In the footsteps of Amy Yee and her son Gordy, the foundation offers free tennis clinics to school age children. Volunteers have made this event a success year after year. The foundation appreciates all supporters of this event and the foundation. The clinics primary objective is to introduce tennis to kids and also to energize kids who already play.

The Amy Yee Tennis Foundation held its annual tennis clinics as planned this past June. Let's call it divine intervention, but rainy weather and forecasted rain the first three Saturdays in June put the clinics in real doubt. Not only did the outdoor courts dry in time, the weather turned perfect. Significantly, the kids were not deterred and arrived as scheduled. More than 300 school age children registered for this event and by all counts, a record number. Each Saturday, our all volunteer admin and instructor staff met 100 plus energetic kids eager to learn tennis. Many parents were equally energetic being on court assisting volunteer instructors with their child's development. Many kids and parents attended all four Saturdays! The foundation and parents can again thank Seattle Parks and Recreation and foundation volunteers and private donations supporting foundation objectives.

Our success lies with volunteers who help on court as an instructor or assistant off court performing administrative tasks such as set-up and participant check-in. Volunteers play a major role in helping kids have fun learning tennis in the spirit Amy Yee and Gordy Yee.
